Duong Lam Ancient Village One Day Tour

OVERVIEW

The ancient village of Duong Lam on the outskirts of Hanoi is also known as a museum of laterite, home to around 300 houses built three or four centuries ago with lateritic bricks. The village has also been described as the last stronghold of wet rice farming culture in northern Vietnam.

A journey to Duong Lam village is a trip to trace back the origin of Vietnam's culture and Vietnam's traditions.

This is also the great chance explore architecture of ancient houses while wander along its narrow alleyways, visit temples dedicated to the two kings born there, and most interesting of all, chat with locals living in the ancient houses

ITINERARY

8h30 Am: Vietwind Travel’s guide and driver pick you up and start the trip to the west of Hanoi to visit Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses.

It will be your unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys, visit Mong Phu temple in Mong Phu hamlet - the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes.

Have some talks with the locals in their ancient houses by visiting the ancient houses. Enjoy your lunch with Vietnamese food at local restaurant.

After having lunch, we continue driving to visit Mia pagoda, is built in 15 th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes, among with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities.

Then visit Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung.

Driving back Hanoi. Duong Lam Village Tour finishes at about 5h00 PM.

Hanoi One Day Tour

This tour will take you aroud Hanoi to visit the most famous places including including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum –Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house – where president Ho Chi Ho lived on and off from 1958 to 1969, and Ho Chi Minh’s museum where restore the objects and a lot of information about President Ho Chi Minh. Around the corner from the mausoleum is the unique One Pillar pagoda ( Chua Mot Cot). Built in 1049 under Ly dynasty, this beautiful wooden pagoda rest on a single stone pillar rising out of lotus pool. Legend has it that in a dream King Ly Thai To saw the goddess Quan Am seated on a lotus leaf offering him a male child in her outstretched arms. The King is said to have built the pagoda as a sign of his gratitude.

Leaving One Pillar Pagoda, tourists will visit the Temple of Literature the first college of Viet Nam dedicated to Confucian. In the afternoon, visitor will visit Tran Quoc pagoda on the tiny peninsula of the West lake, one vietnam’s most ancient pagodas built in 1639. The last place of city tour is Hoan Kiem Lake (Restored Sword Lake) in the centre Hanoi and visit Ngoc Son Temple which sits pretty on a delightful little island in the Northern part of Hoan Kiem Lake.

HANOI CITY TOUR ITINERARY:

In the morning:

08:00 – 08:30 a.m: Our guide and driver pick you up from your hotel and start to visit Ho Chi Minh complex, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum – the final resting place of Vietnamese great father or Uncle Ho, President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house – where Ho lived on and off from 1958 to 1969, then visit Ho Chi Minh’s museum where tourists will learn what he had done for Viet Nam and some other countries and a lot of information about President Ho Chi Minh. The next place is One Pillar Pagoda which is a group of structures consisting of a pagoda and a tower built in the middle of a square pond. Leave One Pillar Pagoda for the Temple of Literature the first college of Viet Nam dedicated to Confucian. Have lunch at a restaurant.

In the afternoon:

If Tues, Thurs, Sats and Suns: After lunch, drive to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, Which is on the shore of West Lake, the Museum of Ethnology. The last place of city tour is Hoan Kiem Lake (Restored Sword Lake), Ngoc Son Temple. Drop off at your hotel.

Perfume Pagoda Tour

              I. PERFUME PAGODA TOUR OVERVIEW

Perfume Pagoda is 75 kms southward of Ha Noi. This is the biggest complex pagoda , where hosts the longest festival in Viet Nam (from the first month to the third one base on the lunar calendar). Moreover, Perfume Pagoda is knows a place which has spectacular landscape, you will have chance to enjoy the marvelous sceneries combined between mountains and streams when you get there. If you really fancy your day work-out, you can row the boat by yourself.

The entertaining boat trip along the scenic waterways between limestones cliffs take about 2 hours return, allow a couple more hours to climb to the top and return. The path to the summit is steep in places. However, the good news is that there is now a cable car to the summit.

II.  PERFUME PAGODA 1 DAY TRIP ITINERARY

 07:40 - 8:30 Get pick up by our tour guide and bus then depart for Perfume pagoda (60 km west of Hanoi). Have a break 20 minutes half way to relax and experience Vietnamese handicraft products such as lacquer wares, paintings, embroideries…

  10:00 Upon arrival prepare your things and start a 40 minute boat ride along the river side to enjoy beautiful landscapes of streams and paddy fields.

11:00 Leave the boat and do hiking up to the unique pagoda inside the cave (Huong Tich cave) on the mountain summit (2.5km in height). Reaching the cave, you will have a feeling of entering the holy land of Buddhism. Also experience the breath-taking views of the mountainous landscape.

12:30 Go back down and enjoy Vietnamese lunch in a local restaurant nearby.

14:20 Visit Thien Tru Pagoda (called celestial kitchen), viewing the beautiful religious architectures.

15:00 Board the boat back to Duc dock and return Hanoi.

 18:30 Arrive back in Hanoi. Get dropped off at your morning places. Tour ends
